The Australasian Institute for Ethnomethodology and Conversation Analysis was formed on 3rd September 2001 as a joint initiative of the Australian delegates at the July 2001 meetings of the International Institute for Ethnomethodology and Conversation Analysis in Manchester (UK). Since the 7th AIEMCA conference in Wellington AIEMCA has widened its scope from Australia to Australasia.
AIEMCA’s purpose is to bring together researchers in the fields of EM, CA, and MCA across Australasia, to share news and events, and to organise meetings, symposia, and conferences.
